What is one thing you've always wanted to accomplish, but have never been able to?
Read Matthew 9:18-26. Answer each of the following questions about the ruler, the woman, and the crowd at the ruler's house:
- How would you describe this person's faith?
- How did their actions demonstrate their faith (or lack of faith)?
- What can you learn from the way Jesus' interacted with this person?
Why do you think the ruler believed Jesus could raise his daughter from the dead? Do you think there was anything the ruler thought Jesus couldn't do? Why?
How do you think the woman felt when Jesus told her she would be healed? When have you felt that way?
Why do you think Jesus began by saying "Take heart." (verse 22)? When is a time in your life when you needed to hear Jesus say, "Take heart."?
Why do you think the crowd at the dead girl's house laughed at Jesus?
How do people sometimes put limitations on Jesus by the way they live?
What would someone's life look like if they lived like Jesus could accomplish ANYTHING on their behalf? How would you live differently if you truly believed Jesus could accomplish ANYTHING on your behalf?
What faith step do you need to take this week? How can this group help you?
