The New You (Ephesians 1)

-- These questions are taken directly from Calvary's GROW journal, so they are not necessarily designed to be a complete small group study.  They are however intended to help someone think through the implications of the text. --

Note the words Paul uses to describe the Christians he was writing to.  Do you believe these words are also descriptive of you?
Which of these words or phrases inspire you to live a better life?
Make a list of all the things God has done for us.  Which of these stand out most to you?
Read Ephesians 1:6-8.  Rewrite these verses in your own words.  What do they mean to you?
Using a Bible concordance or a website (examples:  biblegateway.com or youversion.com), look up the different passages in the Bible that talk about an “inheritance”.  Scan through them, and write down any thoughts you have about the inheritance God has promised for us.
How does the promise of an inheritance in the future change your life today?
What does it mean that God has “adopted” us to be his children?
How has your life changed since you changed families?
What are some of the leftovers of the old life that you still need to deal with?
